Libyan commercial banks has $435M worth of cash, says CBL

Libyan commercial banks has $435M worth of cash, says CBL

The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) confirmed on Tuesday that commercial banks across the country has cash balances of more than 2.7 billion Libyan dinars (435 million US dollars), Sada newspaper reports.

According to Sada, a team of CBL reported that cash balances of more than a dozen commercial banks in the country.

The team stated that Jumhouria Bank has cash liquidity of 491 million dinars, the National Commercial Bank has 207 million, Sahara Bank has 106 million, North African Bank has 99.5 million and Al Wahda Bank has 213 million.

The Bank of Commerce and Development has 23 million dinars, Libyan Foreign Bank has 7 million.

The team added that the cash balances of the Libyan Islamic Bank are 215 million, 134 million for Al-Yaqin Bank, 15 million for Al-Andalus Bank, 86 million for Al-Wafa’ Bank, 13 million for Al-Tadamon Bank, and 29 million dinars for the Mediterranean Bank.

The CBL team confirmed that commercial banks will be provided with cash periodically to benefit their Libyan customers.
