Libya’s Ministry of Economy Mohammed Al-Hawaij held talks on Tuesday with UK Ambassador Martin Longden, focusing on British companies work in the country.
According to a statement by Al-Hawaij’s ministry, he informed the British diplomat that the Libyan ministry is following up with the relevant authorities on the process of facilitating the work of British companies on multiple contracted projects across the country.
Al-Hawaij reportedly underscored that Britain is “one of Libya’s most important trading partners”. The ministry also said that he “directed the Department of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry to coordinate with the Commercial Office of the British Embassy regarding activating the Libyan-British Follow-up Committee and arranging official visits for the participation of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Employers Council.”
