Libya’s House of Representatives holds a closed session today in Tobruk to discuss developments in the electoral process, House spokesman Abdullah Blehaq told the press earlier today.
This notably comes after 72 members of parliament made a demand to subpoena representatives of the High National Election Commission (HNEC) and other institutions supervising the security and judicial process of the elections.
In a joint statement, the lawmakers expressed their “concern over the negative developments related to the electoral process and the silence on suspicions of fraud, vote-buying and influencing the judiciary through intimidation and temptation.”
