Memeber of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), Ahmed al-Sheriksi, condemned and denounced the storming of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) headquarters “by some militias and with clear incitement by some politicians”.
Targeting the electoral process is a clear targeting of the popular will that demands change,” al-Sheriksi said on his official Facebook page.
“I hold the Ministry of Interior responsible, which secures the Commission,” he added.
Protecting the commission, its Head and technical cadres is an inherent competence of the Ministry of Interior, and the ministry is considered an accomplice in the event something happens to any of them, LPDF member stated.
The international community must implement clear and deterrent sanctions against the intruders and those who incited them. Otherwise, the international community must admit its inability to support the electoral process and its inability to stop the criminals and those obstructing stability in Libya, he noted out.
It is noteworthy that a group of elements affiliated to Agneiwa militia and other militias from al-Zawiya and Misurata stormed HNEC headquarters in Tripoli.
