Libyan Prime Minister meets UAE Companies Coalition for Derna reconstruction

The Libyan Prime Minister appointed by the House of Representatives, Osama Hammad, the Executive Director of the Derna Reconstruction and Affected Cities Fund, Engineer Belqasim Haftar, and the Head of the Reconstruction  Committee, Hatem Al-Aribi, hosted a delegation of the UAE Companies Coalition. The coalition consists of companies specialized in contracting and construction.

The meeting aimed to discuss the reconstruction of Derna and the surrounding areas that were damaged by Hurricane Daniel. The Emirati delegation expressed their gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for supporting and assisting the people of Derna through the air bridge with Libya.

The delegation presented their vision for rebuilding the city and the affected areas, taking into account the nature and geography of the region. They also proposed solutions for the collapse of the city’s dams and the establishment of water networks, sanitation and desalination stations, according to modern international standards.

The Executive Director of the Derna Reconstruction and Affected Cities Fund, Engineer Balqasim Haftar, stressed the need for quality and speed in the reconstruction projects, in order to meet the demands of the city’s people. He also thanked the UAE Companies Coalition for their interest and cooperation in the reconstruction process.
