Libya – Saddam Haftar stated that Libya’s hosting of the “Flintlock 2026” exercise reflects the military establishment’s unity and readiness. Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief, confirmed Libya will host the Flintlock 2026 military exercise. It will take place mid-month. U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) will oversee it. The exercise will feature broad African and international participation. Haftar noted the event is crucial. It will enhance international coordination. It will also combat terrorism. Furthermore, it will boost combat readiness.
Preparations are complete in Sirte. Haftar clarified that preparations for hosting officers and military personnel were finished weeks ago. They come from various parts of the country. Sirte is the host city. He noted that the city resisted terrorism and prevailed. Today, it brings Libyans together. This is after its reconstruction by loyal national efforts.
He added that Libya’s hosting of this international military event reflects the ability of Libyan youth to unite. It affirms the professionalism of military personnel. He stated they would remain, in his words, “a solid structure” in their cohesion. They will be strong in defending a unified Libya.
