Paris – French President Emmanuel Macron called on Saturday for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. This call followed the aggression against Iran. He emphasized the urgent need to contain the escalation. He also stressed the importance of preventing the conflict from widening.
Macron wrote on the “X” platform. He stated that “France calls for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council.” He noted that “the current escalation poses a danger to everyone and must stop.” He affirmed that continued military operations would exacerbate tension in a sensitive region. This would also threaten international peace and stability.
The French President warned against an open war. This war would involve the United States, the Zionist entity, and Iran. He said it would have “dire consequences” for international security. He pointed out that a diplomatic solution remains the best option. It would avoid further deterioration.
Macron believed Iran has no choice but to negotiate “in good faith.” This negotiation would address its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. It would also end what he described as destabilizing regional steps. He stressed the importance of returning to the political path. Dialogue should be prioritized. This would spare the region further unrest.
