The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Masoud Suleiman, met with representatives from BP. The meeting was attended by Nader Zaki, BP’s Regional President for the Middle East and North Africa. Mahmoud Ismail, the company’s Vice President and General Manager in Libya, was also present.
According to the NOC’s media office, the meeting covered recent cooperation updates. This was based on a memorandum of understanding signed last July. The agreement aims to assess the potential for redeveloping certain fields. It also focuses on exploring opportunities in undeveloped areas.
The meeting reviewed the operational plan for an exploratory well. The well is scheduled to be drilled in January. It will adhere to the highest technical and safety standards.
The day prior, BP celebrated the opening of its office in Tripoli. The office will serve as a platform to enhance the partnership with the NOC. It will also help implement agreed-upon plans and explore future energy projects.
