The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Dr. Awad Al-Badri, conducted an inspection visit to the old 11/30 kV Bouatni station in the city of Benghazi to follow up on the installation of the new 30 kV electrical transformer inside the station.
During the tour, attended by a number of department managers from the General Electricity Company and the head of the Bouatni municipal branch, the Minister listened to an explanation about the station’s condition, the causes of the faults that affected the previous transformer, and the procedure for replacing it with the new one.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Director-General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, Engineer Belkacem Khalifa Haftar, and in direct coordination with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mashai, as part of joint efforts to enhance grid stability and improve service for citizens.
The Minister affirmed that the combined efforts of the Fund, the Ministry, and the General Electricity Company have contributed to overcoming previous difficulties. He praised the technical and engineering teams who are working around the clock to ensure the swift completion of the installation and commissioning, which will enhance the stability of the electrical supply in Bouatni and the surrounding areas.
