Benghazi – The Minister of Public Works, Nasr Sharh al-Bal al-Obeidi, during his chairmanship on Wednesday, stressed the importance of protecting the rights of employees in companies and working to enhance their operational and administrative efficiency. This came during the preliminary consultative meeting for the chairman and members of the General Assembly of Public Works Companies in Benghazi.

The meeting was attended by the ministers of Investment, Communications and Transport, and Industry, in addition to the rapporteur of the General Assembly, the Ministry’s legal advisor, the head of the committee for evaluating the status of public works companies, Adel Afkirin, and the head of the committee for reassigning employees of struggling companies, Jamal Abu Gharara.

The attendees discussed following up on the decisions of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers regarding the restructuring of the companies’ general assemblies, reviewing memoranda from the legal office on the companies’ situations, as well as reports from the committees for evaluating the companies’ status and reassigning employees of struggling companies.

The Minister stressed the necessity of joint work and unifying visions within the General Assembly to improve the performance of public works companies and enhance the efficiency of national project implementation according to technical and administrative standards, while committing to transparency and discipline.

The meeting concluded with all members affirming the need to follow up on the recommendations issued and to update the companies’ statutes to enhance their ability to perform their duties effectively and guarantee the rights of their employees.
