Member of Defense and National Security Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Ali al-Tikbali, accused the UN adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, of thwarting the rapprochement between the Libyans.
Al-Tikbali demanded, during press statements, that Williams leave Libya, as she had exceeded the limits of her mandate, as stated.
He stressed that the MPs’ failure to attend the consultations held in Tunisia was due to their complete rejection of Williams’ attempts to change the current situation.
Al-Tikbali stated that despite the fact that parliament’s presidency sent the names that were expected to participate in the dialogue, some deputies refuse to attend.
He added that the dialogue is always between two parties, and the absence of parliament members from the consultations held in Tunisia means that the outcomes of this meeting will not be achieved, which means its complete failure.
