Benghazi – An extensive technical meeting was held at the headquarters of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, bringing together representatives from the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and the British company BP. This meeting was part of the follow-up on the implementation of the terms of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties, which aims to conduct technical and development studies for the Sarir and Messla fields, in addition to carrying out exploratory studies to assess the hydrocarbon potential in several concession areas belonging to the Arabian Gulf Oil Company.
The meeting was chaired by Engineer Mohamed Ben Shatwan, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, and attended by Engineer Abdul Monem Bateekh, Director of the Exploration Department at the National Oil Corporation. Representing BP was Engineer Mahmoud Ismail, the company’s General Manager, accompanied by a comprehensive technical team of experts and specialists in various oil sectors. A number of engineers and specialists from the technical departments of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company also attended.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance technical cooperation among the three parties, particularly in the fields of geological and geophysical studies and technical data analysis, to contribute to increasing production efficiency and developing the fields of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company.
This meeting is part of the efforts by the National Oil Corporation, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, and their international partners to employ global expertise and modern technologies to support exploration and development operations, and to achieve the optimal use of oil resources in a way that enhances the sector’s sustainability and supports the national economy.
