The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) Chairman, Farhat Bengdara, has announced the launch of developing a strategic plan for the oil and gas sector, aimed at increasing production to two million barrels per day.
The plan includes the Corporation and its subsidiaries in cooperation with the American Global Management Consulting Firm, Kearney, NOC said in a statement.
Bengdara announced the establishment of the Office of Strategic Programs, which will undertake the implementation of the plan.
This came during his meeting, Wednesday, with the heads of oil companies, in Benghazi, according to NOC.
Bengdara said NOC is facing challenges, the most important of which is the world’s trend towards alternative energy and dispensing with oil.
A new strategic plan must be prepared that aims to benefit from oil and increase production, he added.
