The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced Monday it has begun enhancing maintenance work on oil and gas pipelines. This work uses composite material repair technologies. It also incorporates fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) pipe techniques. These efforts aim to boost production rates and improve operational efficiency.
The NOC stated this move is in cooperation with the Waha Oil Company. Waha Oil is among the first companies to apply these technologies in its fields. This application achieved positive results in performance and production.
During a meeting with the NOC’s Production Department, the Waha Oil Company gave a visual presentation. The presentation reviewed its practical experience and the results of applying these techniques. It detailed the contribution to increased production rates, improved operational efficiency, and reduced operating costs.
This cooperation seeks to generalize the benefits of this experience to all producing companies in the Libyan oil sector. This supports the NOC’s plan to increase production.
The workshop was attended by specialists and consultants. They came from the NOC’s Production, Maintenance, and Major and Minor Projects departments. Several directors and specialists from the technical departments of the sector’s subsidiaries were also present.
