Vice President of the Libyan Presidential Council (PC), Abdulla al-Lafi, said that PC pledged to the Libyans at the Geneva Conference on Libya to respect the roadmap, adding: “We, the Presidential Council, bear the responsibility for holding the elections.”
Al-Lafi explained, in his speech at the National Forum to Support the Elections, held in Tripoli yesterday, that the Forum is one of the basics of the actual start of what the Libyans wish for, which is the historic day on December 24, calling on everyone to respect this date.
He also called for overcoming all the disputes surrounding the laws prepared for holding the elections and urged all politicians to concede in the interest of Libya and the Libyans.
Al-Lafi indicated that meetings of the Presidential Council with the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) were calling for elections, saying “It is time for the Libyan people to embrace change, have a president of state and have a role in building their country.”
