President of the Presidential Council and Director General of the Development Fund review the reconstruction file

The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, met with Belqasim Khalifa, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund. The meeting took place on Thursday. It was part of ongoing national consultations. These consultations aim to enhance stability. They also seek to advance construction and development across Libya.

The meeting addressed updates on the reconstruction file. Participants affirmed the strategic importance of development programs. These programs are a fundamental pillar. They are essential for achieving stability. They also reinforce state unity.

Al-Menfi praised the Fund’s role in reconstruction and development. He valued the efforts made in Derna. These efforts address the aftermath of Cyclone Daniel. The reconstruction file shows progress. It includes project implementation and infrastructure rehabilitation.

Al-Qassem Khalifa commended Al-Menfi’s support. This support is for development and reconstruction pathways. He also noted Al-Menfi’s commitment to unifying national efforts. This commitment removes obstacles to vital project implementation. Such efforts improve the quality of life. They also restore economic activity. This is particularly true in affected cities.

The meeting also touched upon advancing the political process. This process is the framework. It guarantees sustained stability. Emphasized was the importance of creating conditions. These conditions are for holding national elections. This will end the division. It will establish a phase based on consensus and partnership.

Al-Menfi stressed that successful reconstruction efforts require unified institutions. They also need prudent financial management. He affirmed the importance of approving a unified general budget. This budget will ensure fair resource distribution. It will also support the implementation of development projects. These projects will follow clear national priorities.

Both sides affirmed the need to strengthen oversight and disclosure mechanisms. This will protect public funds. It will also improve resource management efficiency. They emphasized enhancing coordination among national institutions. Opening up to regional and international partnerships is also crucial. This supports reconstruction efforts. It also aids Libya’s economic recovery path.
