Resumption of the Libya Powerlifting Championship in Tripoli

Tripoli – The Libyan Powerlifting Federation Board has decided to resume the 2026 Libyan Powerlifting Championship in Tripoli on Thursday and Friday, July 23 and 24, according to Decision No. 13 for 2026.

The federation stated that the championship will be held based on the previously submitted and approved lists of nominated athletes. This is to ensure that the competitions proceed according to established organizational procedures.

Vice President Akram Ali Al-Buaishi has been appointed as head of the organizing, supervision, and follow-up committee for the championship. He will oversee arrangements to ensure the competitions run smoothly.

The decision to resume the championship follows outcomes from the federation board meeting held in Benghazi on July 7, 2026, as well as the findings of an investigation committee formed by Decision No. 11 for 2026.
