Following the meeting of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Staff “Khalifa Haftar,” the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General “Saddam Haftar,” met at the General Command Headquarters in Benghazi with the Commander of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM), Lieutenant General “Dagvin Anderson,” the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, “Jeremy Berndt,” and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting addressed the latest developments on the international and regional levels and reviewed joint efforts to confront cross-border threats in a manner that enhances regional cooperation and contributes to the stability of the region.
Both sides also discussed ways to develop military cooperation between the General Command and AFRICOM, including joint training programs to bolster the capabilities of the Armed Forces, in addition to following up on the file regarding lifting the arms embargo imposed on the Armed Forces.
