Sirte – A delegation from the Sirte Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, led by its president, Fathi Al-Daaiki, and a number of businessmen, participated in the International Economic Forum in the Indonesian city of Central Java, following an official invitation aimed at enhancing international economic cooperation.
Al-Daaiki confirmed to the Libyan News Agency that the delegation’s participation aims to strengthen international economic partnerships and discuss the challenges and opportunities for export under new customs policies, with the participation of Asian and international economic institutions, noting the importance of being open to foreign investment opportunities.
He explained that the participation of the businessmen and the Sirte Chamber is part of leveraging the rehabilitation of the Sirte Commercial Port and the official resumption of its activities, in addition to the launch of the Sirte Free Zone as a strategic project to link trade between Africa and Asia, thereby enhancing the city’s status as an international trade and investment hub.
Al-Daaiki noted that the city of Sirte enjoys a distinguished geographical location on the Mediterranean Sea and an advanced logistical infrastructure currently being activated, making it a promising platform for export and investment, especially in the sectors of light industries, logistical services, and free markets. He also highlighted the city’s significant potential to attract foreign investment and develop the local economy.
