Ras Lanuf – The Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company has announced the start of the initial phase of restarting its ethylene plant, following the completion of comprehensive maintenance carried out with high efficiency by national technical staff.
This operational phase included feeding naphtha into the thermal cracking furnaces and starting the main compressor, as part of a precise operational plan that adheres to the highest occupational and operational safety standards to ensure a safe work environment and the stable technical performance of equipment and systems.
Production of final products that meet standard specifications is expected to begin within the next two days, following the plant’s shutdown since February 2025.
The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to all employees of the Ras Lanuf company for their continuous efforts and professional commitment during the maintenance and restart phases. They affirmed their full support for completing the plans to restart this strategic industrial complex in its entirety, from its feedstock units to its final product units, such as aromatic gasoline and other important petrochemical products.
