Tripoli – The Hajj and Umrah Authority announced the completion of the electronic lottery. This lottery is for the Hajj season 1447 AH – 2026 AD. The process began Saturday morning. It took place at various approved coordination offices and centers. These centers are located across different Libyan regions. Sabri Al-Buaishi is the Deputy Head of the Authority.
He stated this in a press statement to local media. The Authority will start sending direct text messages to lottery winners. All Hajj coordination offices will announce the electronic lottery results later. The General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs made an announcement last January.
The state will cover the costs of this year’s Hajj season. This ensures citizens can perform the pilgrimage. It also aims to ease financial burdens on pilgrims. Approximately 1,513,818 citizens registered for this year’s Hajj lottery. In 2025, 7,800 Libyan pilgrims performed Hajj rituals.
