Audit Bureau discusses with Telecommunications Authority developing revenue collection, updating legislation, and company licenses

Tripoli – The Audit Bureau met with the General Authority for Communications and Informatics. They discussed mechanisms for collecting sovereign revenues. They also explored ways to develop internal regulations and legislation. This development aims to keep pace with the evolving communications sector. Renewal of licenses for companies operating in this vital sector was also discussed.

This meeting was held by the General Department for Oversight of Service Sectors at the Audit Bureau. Officials from the General Authority for Communications and Informatics attended. They addressed sovereign revenue files. They also discussed collection mechanisms. These mechanisms must comply with current laws and regulations. The goal is to enhance transparency. It also aims to raise the efficiency of financial and administrative performance.

Attendees further discussed the license renewal mechanism. They stressed the need for comprehensive technical, legal, and financial studies. This ensures the desired balance. It also prevents any potential cost increases from affecting operating companies. Furthermore, it protects beneficiaries of telecommunications services.

The Audit Bureau emphasized the urgency of updating the Authority’s internal regulations and legislation. This update must be thoughtful and organized. It will contribute to the development of the communications sector. It will also enhance its efficiency. Furthermore, it will strengthen its ability to keep pace with technical and administrative developments.

At the meeting’s conclusion, attendees affirmed the importance of continued coordination. They agreed to hold subsequent meetings. These meetings will follow up on the implementation of procedures and recommendations. This serves the public interest. It also preserves the state’s sovereign revenues.
