Sabha – The National Youth Committee for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, under the Ministry of Youth of the Libyan Government, has continued its work as part of Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar’s “Together for the South” initiative. This is within the framework of the National Youth Awareness Convoy, launched under the slogan “No to Drugs… Yes to Life,” which aims to enhance community awareness and confront the dangers of substance abuse among youth and students.
In Sabha, the awareness and guidance team conducted awareness and guidance lectures today, Tuesday, at the Othman bin Affan Secondary School for Boys. This is part of the first phase of the campaign, which aims to protect students from the dangers of drugs during the current academic year, in coordination with the Sabha Municipality’s Education Monitoring Office. The lectures focused on defining the dangers of drugs and their impact on the health, behavior, and future of youth, in addition to strengthening the role of schools and families in curbing their spread within society.
In this context, the head of the National Committee for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Abdul Aziz Al-Awami, explained to the Libyan News Agency that these activities are part of a national responsibility aimed at spreading awareness and building a generation that is aware of the risks and capable of making sound decisions. Al-Awami expressed his appreciation to the school administration and teachers for their support and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of the awareness team’s efforts in instilling the values of awareness and responsibility among youth.
