The National Oil Well Drilling and Maintenance Company, on Saturday, granted a new 300-horsepower “Ideco” drilling rig to the Ajdabiya Petroleum Training Institute, to be used in field training programs for students as part of the practical training requirements for accredited oil and technical specializations.
The National Oil Corporation confirmed that this modern rig will provide a significant opportunity for direct, hands-on training with real drilling equipment. This will help reduce the required time and effort and enhance trainees’ skills in operating and maintaining drilling rigs by linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, in accordance with occupational safety standards.
The Corporation noted that this initiative is part of implementing its strategies, with the direct follow-up and guidance of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Engineer Masoud Suleiman, to support training programs and create a realistic work environment that simulates the conditions in oil fields. This will contribute to graduating qualified technical personnel who can quickly integrate into the job market.
Last August, the National Oil Well Drilling and Maintenance Company had announced the near completion of its marine rescue basin, confirming that work is ongoing to meet all technical and procedural requirements for “OPITO” certification. This is in preparation for obtaining the official accreditation that will allow the facility to issue internationally recognized “BOSIET” (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) marine rescue certificates.
The company explained that this project aims to enhance its capabilities, increase its efficiency, and solidify its position among the leading companies in the field of drilling, well maintenance services, and related support activities.
