Amman – The national wheelchair basketball team secured an important victory. They defeated their Jordanian counterpart 52-33. This was part of the Arab Championship. The team showed high focus and a strong desire to win. This result boosts their chances in the general standings. They face Palestine next in an anticipated match.
Mohamed Al-Silini Al-Fitouri spoke about the match. He is the Director of Media for the Libyan Paralympic Committee. He said technical analysis showed some tactical aspects need improvement. He stressed that “victory alone is not enough.” It must be combined with a correct foundational performance.
Al-Silini explained the team relied on individual effort. This happened for long periods. Clear technical guidance from outside the court was absent. This led to wasted easy chances. Players took rushed shots. They also did not use important tactical changes. He noted tactical flaws in offense and defense. A structured offense was missing. The team applied full-court pressure. They should have used organized zone defense. This strategy depletes energy. It is unsustainable against stronger opponents.
He added that the Jordanian team showed great fighting spirit. They also displayed strong ambition. However, they lack experience. They need more local competitions. Preparatory camps are essential. They also require professional equipment. This includes specialized wheelchairs.
Al-Silini also highlighted the need to review the Libyan team’s roster. The Arab Championship must be used as preparation. This is for tougher continental tournaments like Africa. They must use all chances. This will enhance teamwork and fundamentals. Clear offensive and defensive tactics are needed. This will lead to positive results.
