Turkish Security Council calls on Libyan authorities to avoid any steps leading to conflict

The Turkish National Security Council called on the local authorities in Libya to avoid any steps that would lead to arenewal of conflict in the country.

After its meeting on Wednesday, the Council, headed by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stressed the activation of the democratic process on a legitimate basis to bring peace and establish lasting stability in Libya.

The Turkish Council made it clear that the state of calm in the country is due to the great sacrifices, and it is an important gain and opportunity for the Libyan people to achieve peace and prosperity.

It called at the end of the year to avoid unilateral steps in Libya, in order to hold the elections legally and in an atmosphere of calm.
