During his inaugural visit to the city of Sirte, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Jeremy Berndt met with Mayor Mukhtar al-Maadani and members of the municipal council.
Berndt expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and stated that the discussions focused on the challenges facing the city. They also explored increased opportunities for cooperation with American companies, particularly in the context of recent economic development and reconstruction efforts in Sire.
