UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said Saturday she met with the Head and other officials of the Libyan National Forces Alliance party in Tripoli.
“Stimulating discussion at the National Forces Alliance with the designated Head of the NFA, Dr. Khaled Al-Mariami, accompanied by a number of members of the Political Bureau and the Supreme Committee,” Williams tweeted.
“I received an in-depth briefing on the NFA’s “Executive Plan to safeguard the political and the electoral process.” They noted that Libyans are weary of the years-long transitional period and want sustainable democracy and stability that can only be secured through the ballot box,” she pointed out.
“On this day I also honor the memory of the late Dr. Mahmoud Jibril who contributed greatly to Libya,” Williams added.
