92 migrants were intercepted and brought back to Libya last night after embarking on Europe-bound journey a day earlier from the western city of Zuwara, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said today.
According to statement by UNHCR via Twitter, there were four women and three children among the migrants who were provided medical aid, food and water by teams of UNHCR and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) upon their return to Tripoli.
“Nearly 28,000 persons were returned this year to Libya by coastal security,” UNHCR said.
