The U.S. lobbying firm hired by former Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha has terminated its contract with him just weeks after it was signed, reported American news website Politico on Monday.
Bashagha hired Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck with a monthly retainer of $50,000 in order to “assist with promoting free and fair elections in Libya” and “support anti-corruption efforts within the financial system and donor funded programs”, according to a publicly released copy of the contract.
Citing a new filing from last week, Politico said the contract was terminated on July 9.
