Al-Zawiya – The Debate Club at Al-Zawiya University has concluded its national initiative to train 300 student debaters. This project is the first of its kind among Libyan universities.
The closing ceremony drew wide participation from youth and sports officials, representatives of Al-Zawiya Municipality, directors and representatives from social sectors, and members of the National Security Service. Also present were representatives of the General Union of Libyan Students, student unions from various Libyan universities, public figures, political leaders, and a large crowd of male and female students, in addition to the club’s managers and deputies.
The event featured several speeches that praised this national achievement. Speakers highlighted the importance of debate programs in building awareness, promoting dialogue culture, and strengthening critical thinking skills among youth. They expressed their hopes for the graduates to become effective decision-makers, leaders of change, and genuine platforms for young voices in the city.
At the end of the event, project organizers offered their thanks and appreciation to all the supporting parties and attendees who contributed to the success of the initiative. They also officially announced the launch of a second national project to train 600 student debaters, which will begin with the next academic semester. This new initiative will continue the Debate Club’s mission of empowering young people and building conscious leadership.
