Al-Abyar – The Education Monitoring Office in Al-Abyar has warned against the spread of fabricated video clips on social media platforms, including “TikTok,” aimed at offending and defaming teachers using artificial intelligence technologies.
Belqasem Al-Manfi, Director of the Media Office at the Monitoring Office, told the Libyan News Agency that some of these clips were excerpted from the official pages of educational institutions without permission, explaining that this act legally constitutes defamation and cybercrime, punishable under Libyan law.
Al-Manfi added that the Monitoring Office has also observed the spread of offensive comments and cyberbullying on the posts of official pages, describing this as “unacceptable behavior that is contrary to educational and moral values.”
Al-Manfi stressed the seriousness of this warning, calling on parents to cooperate to ensure a safe educational environment and to protect their children from engaging in practices that could subject them to legal accountability.
He also noted that security services are tracking and monitoring pages and websites that publish offensive content against students, teachers, and staff at educational institutions, with the relevant authorities also monitoring comments on official pages.
