Al-Bayda – The local branch of the Illegal Immigration Control Agency in Al-Bayda continues to implement its security plan to reduce illegal migration, following the directives of the agency’s president and under direct supervision of the branch director. This is part of ongoing efforts to enhance security in the area.
The branch reported that security patrols have intensified their field operations and routine checkpoints. As a result, several migrants of various nationalities were detained and transferred to the branch’s shelter center for legal procedures. These include verifying their health status and the legality of their entry into Libya, in preparation for their deportation under current laws.
Medical examinations showed that five Sudanese migrants tested positive for hepatitis. Authorities have taken appropriate health and legal measures in accordance with official guidelines.
During the same security campaigns, patrols also detained three vehicles driven by foreigners without valid driver’s licenses. The vehicles were handed over to the Traffic and Licensing Department of Green Mountain Security Directorate for further legal action.
Additionally, patrols responded to a report from the Public Services Company about foreigners at the company’s landfill, where they had started fires. This caused disturbance to nearby residents and raised concerns over environmental damage.
Patrols detained the migrants found at the landfill and referred them to the branch’s shelter center for legal procedures.
The Al-Bayda branch of the Illegal Immigration Control Agency confirmed that it will continue security operations to complete the deportation processes for other detainees, as part of efforts to combat illegal migration, strengthen public security, and protect citizens and the environment.
