Member of the House of Representatives Jaballah Al-Shibani warned of the danger of what he described as the “soft settlement” of illegal immigrants in Libya.
In a post on his Facebook account, Al-Shibani called for support for the “Movement Against Settlement” so that it grows to encompass all areas, describing it as an alarm bell to alert Libyans to this danger.
He explained that this undeclared settlement is being carried out by gradually absorbing immigrants and granting them facilities including healthcare and education, in addition to some documents that legitimize their presence in the country and prevent their prosecution or deportation.
He pointed out that these steps, according to him, are managed under the sponsorship of foreign intelligence agencies and in cooperation with internal Libyan parties, after these entities became certain of the impossibility of implementing an overt settlement project due to the Libyan people’s rejection of what they considered a “conspiracy targeting the homeland.”
The representative concluded his warning by emphasizing that “the danger of settlement is tantamount to selling the homeland publicly,” calling on all Libyans to be aware and to act to confront what he considered a direct threat to national security and the social fabric.
