Tripoli – Mohamed bin Ghalbon, State Minister for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs in the Government of National Unity, met Sunday with Mustafa Suleiman, Chairman of the National Oil Corporation. The meeting focused on the challenges of fuel distribution and ways to address congestion at filling stations.
According to the government’s official “Hakomitna” platform, discussions covered fuel supply in the local market, the reasons for severe crowding at distribution points, and measures to ensure smooth fuel delivery and resolve bottlenecks. Participants reviewed key fuel supply indicators and station stock levels.
Brega Petroleum Marketing Company provided an overview of fuel transportation and distribution mechanisms, including steps taken to stabilize supplies and meet market demands. The meeting also addressed the obstacles facing distribution operations and strategies to overcome them.
Attending the meeting were Khalifa Shleig, Director of the Cabinet Oversight and Inspection Department; Major General Miloud Atiyah, head of the Ministry of Interior’s Fuel Crisis Committee; the acting chairman of Brega Petroleum Marketing Company; and representatives from local fuel distribution companies.
This meeting was held on the instructions of Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh, who previously tasked the head of the Financial Crimes, Money Laundering, and Counter-Terrorism Authority with investigating the causes of fuel station congestion and monitoring closed or inactive stations in Greater Tripoli municipalities, to ensure consistent and stable fuel supply.
