Aguila Saleh, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, held talks yesterday about the presidential elections law with Nicola Orlando, the Special Envoy of the Italian Foreign Minister, said the House spokesman Abdullah Blehaq.
The Deputy Interior Minister for Directorate Affairs, Major General Bashir Al-Amin, held a meeting on Sunday with the Security Adviser of the United Nations Mission in Libya, Johannes Jacobs, to discuss the security preparations for the elections scheduled for December 24th.
Italy’s Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, will co-chair a meeting on Libya on Wednesday, September 22, together with his German and French counterparts, Heiko Maas and Jean-Yves Le Drian, respectively, Italian news agency Nova reports.
Citing Libyan sources, Nova stated that the meeting will be held on the sidelines of the 76th United Nations General Assembly, which will be held in New York from 20-25 September.
Spokesman for the Special Forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Brigadier General Meilood al-Zuway, announced that two helicopters of LNA Air Force crashed after colliding near Mesous village, southeast of Benghazi.
