Benghazi – The Department of Mosque Affairs has launched a new course. It is part of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the Libyan Government. This course is for mosque imams (Qayyim) and muezzins. It is called the First-Level Legal and Administrative Proficiency Course. The training will take place from December 20 to 25.
This course is part of the Ministry’s efforts. It aims to elevate the legal and administrative standards of imams and muezzins. It also seeks to enhance their role in serving mosques. They will perform their duties according to Sharia regulations and approved systems.
Hamad Ali Al-Obeidi is the Director of the Department of Mosque Affairs. He told the Libyan News Agency that the course has several goals. It aims to solidify the correct legal understanding of imams’ and muezzins’ duties. It also develops skills in discipline and professional commitment. Good mosque management is another objective. Participants will master performing worship and rituals properly. This will contribute to the physical and spiritual prosperity of mosques.
Al-Obeidi explained the course content. It includes integrated legal and administrative modules. These combine academic principles with practical application. A group of specialists will supervise its delivery. The training program considers the requirements of fieldwork inside mosques.
The Director added that this course is the first step. It is part of a series of qualification programs. These programs aim to improve the efficiency of mosque staff. He prayed for God’s success and guidance. He also asked that this work be solely for God’s sake. May it be blessed in serving and building His houses with guidance and insight.
