Sirte – A convoy from the National Cornea Transplant Authority of the Central Eye Hospital in Tripoli, in cooperation with doctors from the ophthalmology department at Ibn Sina Hospital, successfully performed 17 cornea transplant operations for patients from Sirte and surrounding areas over a period of two days.
The hospital’s Assistant General Manager, Dr. Jadallah Deryaq, explained to a LANA correspondent that the convoy, supervised by an elite group of specialists in corneal surgery, successfully performed the operations according to the highest medical standards and using modern techniques. This contributed to achieving excellent results and restored hope and sight to the patients who were suffering from corneal diseases.
He added that the medical team conducted thorough medical examinations on more than 100 patients, provided them with necessary medical advice, and scheduled follow-up appointments.
The management of Ibn Sina Hospital expressed its thanks and appreciation to the medical convoy from the National Cornea Transplant Authority for its significant support, and to the hospital’s administration for providing all the necessary resources and the appropriate environment to make this medical campaign a success.
