Tripoli – The Criminal Investigation Department announced a significant seizure. Large quantities of goods were confiscated. These goods were prepared for smuggling. The smuggling was planned via the Ras Ajdir crossing. This crossing is in the west of the country. The department issued a statement last Sunday. It detailed the seized items.
These included clothes and shoes. Television screens were also found. Bicycles, food items, and cigarettes were confiscated. Various types of nuts were also among the seized goods. The department’s administration revealed more details. Some of the goods were hidden inside cars. Other items were found in warehouses. These warehouses were located in residential neighborhoods. The area is close to the Ras Ajdir crossing. The department’s administration stated that necessary legal actions have been taken.
This was done in coordination with the Sabratha Anti-Corruption Prosecution. The vehicles and seized items were referred. They went to the Anti-Smuggling Department of the Customs Authority. This is to complete further investigations. It also ensures necessary legal procedures are followed.
