Sebha – The Libyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Dr. Ahmaid Houma, met on Wednesday. The meeting took place at the Council of Ministers’ office in the Southern Region. He met with members of Libya’s Tuareg Elders Council. The head of the Council’s General Assembly attended. Several office directors from various southern areas were also present.
The meeting focused on discussing key obstacles. These obstacles face the work of the Tuareg Elders Council. Ways to support the Council were also reviewed. This support aims to enhance its social role. It will serve the issues of the Southern Region.
Dr. Ahmaid Houma emphasized the importance of establishing security and stability. He praised the historical and national role of the Tuareg tribes. They contribute to strengthening social peace. They also support coexistence. They assist state efforts in maintaining security in the South.
The meeting also addressed several issues. These relate to the needs and aspirations of southern residents. This discussion was part of the ‘Yes for the South’ initiative. Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, launched this initiative. It aims to support development and stability in southern Libya. It also promotes working together for Fezzan.
