Economic analyst Mukhtar Al-Jadeed warned of the continued illegal exploitation of bank credits.
In a post on his Facebook account, Al-Jadeed stressed that credit thieves made profits estimated at about one and a half dinars for every dollar from the Central Bank, bringing the total losses for the Libyan people to around ten billion dinars over the past ten months.
The analyst pointed out that these practices continue right under the nose of the Central Bank, calling for the bank to reorder its priorities and focus on protecting the national economy before any other measures, such as withdrawing the twenty-dinar note, which was promoted as a magic solution to lower the dollar’s price in the local market.
