The Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, Osama Hammad, accompanied by the Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, Belqasim Khalifa, conducted an inspection tour on Sunday of several development projects in the city of Benghazi, including the maintenance and development of the Tibesti Hotel and the suspended roundabout bridge project in Juliana Park.
The Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, which included a number of ministers and undersecretaries, reviewed the ongoing development work inside the Tibesti Hotel. The tour covered the rooms, suites, and hotel facilities, and they listened to explanations from the project managers about the completion rates and future plans, confirming that the hotel will be unveiled with a new look that meets international tourism standards.
In the same context, the Prime Minister inspected the suspended roundabout bridge project in Juliana Park, which aims to connect the city center with the islands of Al-Kish and Tablino and ease traffic congestion, in addition to providing modern service and recreational spaces.
The tour also included the rehabilitation project for Juliana Park, which spans 80 hectares and involves the construction of a 55-meter-high circular icon, a promenade, and integrated recreational facilities.
Hammad affirmed that these vital projects are part of a comprehensive plan to develop infrastructure and services in Benghazi, praising the efforts of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund in monitoring their implementation and raising the level of services to meet citizens’ aspirations.
For his part, Belqasim Khalifa explained that the Fund is moving forward with implementing vital projects in various Libyan cities, covering the tourism, hospitality, and infrastructure sectors, thereby enhancing development and positioning Benghazi as a leading urban and tourist destination.
