Istanbul – The joint Egyptian-Turkish air exercise “Anatolian Eagle 2026” began Saturday. The drill includes multi-role fighter jets from Egypt, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, along with a NATO early warning aircraft. The exercise is being conducted over several days at an air base in Turkey.
The opening phase featured theoretical lectures to unify combat concepts and allow participating forces to exchange training expertise. The program will include a series of joint aerial sorties. The aim is to sharpen the skills of participating personnel and ensure they are well-prepared for assigned missions.
The exercise highlights growing military cooperation between Egypt and Turkey. It follows the recent conclusion of a joint air exercise hosted by Egypt last week, underscoring the strengthening partnership between Cairo and Ankara.
