The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, begins on Sunday a two-day visit to Algeria.
Borrell is set to discuss strengthening relations between Algeria and the European Union (EU), in addition to regional and international issues of common concern, especially the situation in the Sahel region, Libya, Western Sahara and the Palestinian issue.
This visit is the first of its kind by a European official to Algeria since he took office in December 2019. He will meet Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Prime Minister (PM) Ayman Ben Abdelrahman.
