Sebha – The Libyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Ahmid Houma, met in the city of Sebha with Saada Abdullah Mukhtar, the Director of the Office for the Support and Empowerment of Women at Sebha University, to discuss the office’s mission and its role in empowering women within the university environment and enhancing their participation in higher education and scientific research, particularly in issues related to women’s affairs and professional development.
The two parties also discussed the most significant challenges facing the Office for the Support and Empowerment of Women at both the administrative and field levels, and the mechanisms for providing it with the necessary support from the government and relevant institutions, in a way that contributes to improving the status of women in the southern region.
In his statement to the Libyan News Agency, Houma praised the efforts made by the office in supporting female cadres and developing their capabilities, stressing that the empowerment of women is a fundamental part of the state’s vision to drive development and build a more balanced and inclusive society.
