Ajdabiya – The General Investigations Department of the Ajdabiya Security Directorate has arrested one of the individuals involved in bringing and housing illegal immigrants inside his private garage in the city. This came as part of the continuous efforts to combat the phenomenon of human trafficking and illegal immigration.
The Directorate explained that the operation was carried out after meticulous investigations and field follow-up. The location was raided in coordination with the Public Prosecution, and the suspect was arrested along with a red “Tundra” vehicle. In addition, 14 individuals of Egyptian nationality, who had entered the country illegally in preparation for being smuggled to Europe, were found.
The Directorate added that the initial investigations resulted in the suspect and the immigrants confessing to the charges against them, confirming that the necessary legal measures have been taken and they have been referred to the Public Prosecution for jurisdiction and further action.
