Benghazi – The Benghazi Commission for Scouts and Girl Guides concluded its ‘Mother and Child Day in the Cub Scout Circle’ festival on Sunday. The event featured a celebratory and educational atmosphere. Several cub leaders and their families attended.
The closing ceremonies honored the mothers of leaders and female leaders. This recognized their role in supporting the scouting movement. It also acknowledged their continuous support for their children in scouting activities. Additionally, several female leaders were honored for their long-standing dedication to scouting work.
Walid Mohammed bin Katto is the Fourth Cub Scout Troop Leader. He is also the Mother’s Day activity leader. He stated the festival lasted three days. It included diverse activities. These aimed to enhance the educational and cultural aspects of the cub scouts.
The program featured a Libyan Heritage Day. Traditional attire was displayed. Popular dishes were served. Traditional games were organized. Participants and their families actively engaged.
The festival also included a drawing competition among scout teams. A humanitarian visit was made to the oncology department at the Children’s Hospital. This initiative aimed to bring joy to patients. It also fostered humanitarian values among the cub scouts.
Wael Al-Awjali is the Cub Scout Circle activity leader at the Commission. He emphasized this occasion is a vital platform. It celebrates the mother’s role in the family and society. He stressed the importance of continuing such events. They positively impact the development of cub scout skills. They also strengthen scouting work.
