Tripoli – The General Electricity Company announced on Thursday the arrival of a new shipment of German spare parts, as part of its plan to maintain and upgrade generation units in a number of power stations across the country, in preparation for the winter peak season and to meet the expected increase in energy demand.
The company clarified, in a statement published on its official Facebook page, that the shipment was supplied by the German company Siemens Energy and includes 16 parcels containing spare parts designated for the Ruwais power station in the Western Mountain, which is currently undergoing a major overhaul and development of some of its production units.
The company also noted that the shipment includes another 16 parcels destined for the North Benghazi power station, as part of a comprehensive plan to increase operational efficiency and enhance the production capacity of the main stations, ensuring the stability of the electrical grid and the continuous supply of power to citizens without interruption.
The General Electricity Company affirmed that this step is a continuation of its efforts to modernize the electrical system and improve the performance of generation stations, in preparation for the challenges of increased electricity demand during upcoming peak periods.
