Cairo – Dr. Fadwa Al-Faidi, Head of the Authority for Accreditation and Oversight of Health Institutions, met on Monday. She met with the Egyptian General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulatory Control. They discussed ways to support their joint partnership. They also explored exchanging experiences in applying quality standards.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed mechanisms for developing accreditation systems for health institutions. Dr. Ibrahim Bait Al-Mal, Medical Advisor to the Authority’s Head, attended. They aimed to enhance capacity-building and training programs. This aligns with the continuous development requirements of the health sector.
The meeting concluded with an agreement on training programs for staff of the Libyan Authority for Accreditation of Health Institutions. A preliminary understanding was also reached. It concerns signing an institutional cooperation agreement between the two authorities in the future. This will enhance the integration of roles. It will also support improving the quality and sustainability of healthcare.
This meeting aims to strengthen institutional cooperation. It promotes the exchange of expertise between both sides. This is specifically in healthcare accreditation and regulation. The goal is to develop the quality system and patient safety. It also seeks to raise the standard of health services. This will be in line with best international practices.
