Libya cuts off fuel for over 30 gas stations accused of smuggling

Libya cuts off fuel for over 30 gas stations accused of smuggling

Libya’s Public Prosecution ordered the suspension of fuel supply to more than thirty stations, which are accused of smuggling fuel in west of the country.

According to a statement by the Attorney-General’s office, the PublicProsecution began its investigation after several citizens reported lack of fuel at multiple gas stations despite the fact fuel was supplied to these stations by oil production companies.

The Attorney-General said the investigation revealed that the commissioners of 32 gas stations have been selling fuel to smugglers.

The Attorney-General ordered the arrest of sever parties involved in the smuggling.

The Attorney General’s Office said that the investigator proceeded to request people involved in the activity being prosecuted.
